Call of Duty releases may no longer be annual after Microsoft acquisition

Nothing is official yet. This is reported by two sources in the Bloomberg report. Activision employees would believe that it would be a good thing if the series took longer to develop the Call of Duty games. Fans should be happier about this and the series of shots should improve that way.

Call of Duty Vanguard, the most recent release in the franchise, has already seen a significant drop in sales in the UK. In its first few weeks, the game sold 36 percent less than Call of Duty Black Op’s Cold War. However, that doesn’t mean the series will undergo significant changes right away. Presumably, this year’s Call of Duty, a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, will release in 2022.

Bloomberg also reports that a change isn’t likely to be implemented until next year at the earliest. This would also benefit the workload experienced by employees at Call of Duty studios. This would be particularly high and in the last year there have already been several charges against Activision Blizzard management for more issues with Call of Duty developers.

Call of Duty launch nog op PlayStation?

With Microsoft wanting to take over Activision Blizzard, there seems to be a lot going on. One of the things that is still unclear, for example, is whether Call of Duty will still appear on PlayStation platforms in the future. With the acquisition, Microsoft could very well make the well-known series exclusive to the Xbox and PC platforms. Phil Spencer gave some indications about the future on Thursday night.
