Based on UK sales figures, Call of Duty: Vanguard, which launched on Friday, is an absolute hit, especially on PS5. Among other things, FIFA 22 could also be sold from above. However, only physical sales are counted.
Vanguard on PS5 outshines all Xbox versions
If you look at the detailed numbers, 41% of all Call of Duty: Vanguard units sold in the UK correspond to the PS5. Behind that is the implementation for PS4, which takes it to 29%. So Sony consoles account for 70% of total UK sales. With the Xbox versions, things are a bit different.
At 19%, the next-gen version for Xbox One is even ahead of the implementation for Xbox Series X / S, which achieved an 11% share after the weekend. Together, the Xbox versions come in at 30%, less than the PS5 and only slightly more than the PS4 variant.
Digital sales keep increasing
This year, too, the numbers make it clear that more and more players are switching to digital versions. Compared to its predecessor, Vanguard’s physical sales were down 23%. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War even had to accept a 64% drop in physical sales in a direct duel with the previous year in 2020.
