If you want to play Death Stranding for free on PS5, you should know that now it is possible. At least for a few hours, until the demo is over. In fact, Sony is testing this feature in two games, only in the UK for now. But there is a problem: it starts as soon as you start the download.
Ah, the heyday of the demonstrations. Not so long ago most big games offer a trial version, most of the time limited in time and space, so that the player can get an idea of what to expect. Many of them have spent hours and hours in the same area repeating the same actions, hoping to finally be able to buy the title in question.
If the practice hasn’t completely disappeared, it’s clear that the big development studios have gotten a bit loose. Yet visibly steeped in nostalgia, Sony has decided to update it. For now, the feature is only available on the latest Sony console and only in the UK. Obviously, the manufacturer is still in the testing phase, because at the moment it only offers two games: Cut et Sackboy from the director of Death Stranding: a great adventure. The former offers six hours of free games, while the latter offers five. However, there is a catch, and it is not the least. Indeed, the countdown starts when you click the download button.
Knowing that some downloads can take several hours, the user’s playback time is greatly reduced. Also, it is not possible test the game in question from a single account on your PS5. Finally, the DLC and purchased in-game content will not be activated until the full version is purchased.

However, there is a method to fix the download time issue, as one Reddit member points out, if you are currently in the UK. Here’s how to do it:
- Create a new account in the same region as your main account
- See you in PS Store to the corresponding game page
- Click the button Download Trial Version
- Once the download is complete, go back to your main account and repeat the operation in step 2
Once the game is downloaded, it should launch directly, the countdown to the maximum.
