(ETX Daily Up) – The fintech WeNow specialized in carbon footprint has just launched the international platform “EngageNow”. The goal of this new interactive video game-like site is to educate companies and employees about defending the planet.
Inform, raise awareness and act in favor of the climate through games. This is the ambition of the EngageNow platform, which has just been launched by the fintech WeNow, in association with the Kairos Agency. If this new site is initially aimed at companies, it intends to open to the general public by the end of the year and hopes to federate several million users in the next three years.
“According to a new survey conducted among a sample of 420 French employees, 75% of respondents say they want to be supported or trained on climate issues by their company. This new platform thus responds to a real need for commitment and action”, WeNow it said in a press release.
Each user will be rewarded for adopting sober gestures, through playful tours that are distinguished in several phases. The first is to learn and raise awareness. Then it’s time to play, employees using the platform will be able to assess their own carbon footprint and then have fun comparing it with that of their colleagues registered on the network.
Finally, the last phase consists of taking concrete actions, always through the game: individual or collective climatic challenges, “bonuses” or “penalties” issued by the platform depending on the results obtained … The “gamers” informed probably not they will be disoriented.
To feed the content of the platform, the project has deployed several partners: the UN, B Lab France, B or the Raise Impact fund. The site will also provide the opportunity to contribute to biodiversity or global carbon neutrality by financing the development of carbon sequestration projects.
