Game News PS5: a new PlayStation Store planned for France, the easiest console to own?
Hit by incessant stockouts since its launch, the PlayStation 5 remains rare. To get your hands on the Sony console, it is almost essential to keep an eye on each vendor and be on the lookout for the slightest opportunity to implement your credit card when a replenishment arises. An obstacle course that could disappear with the imminent arrival in France of a new PlayStation Store.
Summary
- First in Germany and then in France
- The PS5 is not the only one in the program
First in Germany and then in France
It’s no secret that the PlayStation 5 is still just as hard to find a year after launch. Between the resellers, thefts and shortages complicating production, distributors almost always have empty stocks. To give everyone a better chance of getting their hands on their next-generation console, Sony has decided to export its PlayStation Direct to Europe.

The PlayStation Online Store Comes to Europe! It goes into effect from today with the launch of the store in Germany, and soon for the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg.
But what does Sony mean by online store? It is actually a site inspired by the American PlayStation Direct. It allows you to be informed when a batch of consoles arrives and then order the machine at the end of an online queue. If the German version of the store is already available, the French store should arrive “early“.
The PS5 is not the only one in the program
If the arrival of such a site is necessarily good news for PlayStation 5 researchers (especially as the holidays approach), they are not the only ones concerned. Through this site, it will also be possible to reserve / buy games in physical version, as well as other types of peripherals such as DualSense controllers or even 3D headphones.
As mentioned above, a European PlayStation Direct is a good thing to give everyone a chance to get their hands on the PlayStation 5. However, it is legitimate to think that alone it will not raise prices. The microprocessor shortage still hits the world. And the least we can say is that manufacturers are not really optimistic about a return to normalcy.. For example, Takeshi Kamebuchi (Toshiba’s director in charge of semiconductors) indicated that the supply of chips would remain difficult at least during the first part of the year 2022.
