London Despite the sharp rise in new infections, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants to end all the crown’s measures in England soon. As of July 19, the distance rules and mask requirements will no longer apply, as well as the requirement to work from home, in pubs you will no longer have to be attended exclusively at the table. Nightclubs may reopen. And there are no longer any space restrictions on events, and no proof of vaccination or proof is required to enter. Johnson emphasized in London on Monday that the binding decision would be made on Monday (July 12) after a further review of the pandemic data.
Johnson had announced a “cautious but irrevocable” departure from crown regulations months ago. The final stage was already scheduled for June 21, but Johnson had postponed it for four weeks due to the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant. In light of a successful vaccination program, the prime minister now sees the conditions for the last step met, despite criticism from science, unions and politics.
