The arrival of winter in Great Britain paralyzes traffic

Manchester

The onset of winter with snow and ice and stormy weather caused major traffic delays in the north of England and Wales on Friday. Motorists were trapped in snow for several hours on the west-east axis of the M62 motorway, which runs from Liverpool via Manchester and Leeds to Hull, Britain’s PA news agency reported.

Several roads have been closed in Yorkshire and Wales. Train services between Manchester and Sheffield came to a halt due to falling trees on the tracks. The reason for the winter weather is Storm Larisa, which hit Britain on Friday night and morning.
