Prince Harry travels to Great Britain: will Meghan accompany him?

Prince Harry will travel to Britain in a few weeks to mark the anniversary of the Invictus Games, which he founded. But will he make the visit home alone?

The Invictus Games celebrated their premiere in 2014. This is an international sporting event for soldiers who have suffered injuries in the line of duty or who struggle with mental illness as a result of their deployment. The event was launched by Prince Harry, who is also a patron of the Invictus Games Foundation.

This year the Invictus Games are being held for the tenth time. For this reason, an anniversary service will be held on May 8. In addition to British actor Damian Lewis, who will recite the Invictus poem at the event, representatives from all nations participating in the Invictus Games are expected. Numerous members, supporters and beneficiaries will give readings. Prince Harry doesn't want to miss this special occasion either.

Prince Harry to take over program on anniversary

As reported by the British newspaper “The Sun”, the 39-year-old will travel to his native Great Britain to celebrate the Invictus Games. Thus, a spokesperson for the sporting event confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will participate in the anniversary service at St. Paul's Cathedral in London on Wednesday, May 8. There he will also give a reading.

It will be Harry's first visit to Britain since his sister-in-law, Princess Kate, revealed she had cancer. In February he was in his homeland to visit his father: shortly before, Buckingham Palace had announced that King Charles III. suffers from cancer. The American by choice immediately boarded a plane to meet his father. However, it was just a quick visit: Prince Harry stayed in London for a total of around 26 hours, of which he only gave Charles 30 minutes.

Therefore, royal experts assume that the trip to London in May will be short-lived. A meeting with his father Charles and his brother William would be difficult to achieve just for reasons of time. While Harry will be at the Invictus Games service from 5 pm to 6 pm local time, his family has other commitments: the first garden party of the year is scheduled for Monday at Buckingham Palace.

It is also not yet clear whether Prince Harry will be accompanied on his trip by his wife Meghan and their two children Archie and Lilibet. The 42-year-old has accompanied her husband to numerous Invictus Games events in the past, but she was last seen in Britain in September 2022, when she attended Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. However, she stayed away from King Charles' coronation in May 2023.
