Mauritian youths leave for a football tournament in the UK

A team made up of 16 young footballers from the Liverpool Football Club International Academy (LFCIA) will depart for a football tournament in the United Kingdom from July 21 to 30, 2022. These players, aged between 16 and 18, will be accompanied by the coach director Neil Murphy and some members of the academy staff.

The team was presented at the Côte-d’Or National Sports Complex, in the presence of the Minister of Youth, Sports and Recreation, Stephan Toussaint, on July 06, 2022.

In this context, Minister Toussaint assured that this tournament will not only raise the level of football in Mauritius, but also represents an opportunity for LFCIA coaches and players in Mauritius.

In other words, only three years have passed since the club opened its doors.
Furthermore, Stephan Toussaint highlighted the fact that these players will finally have the chance to hone their performances and showcase their talent on an international platform. He also encouraged our young compatriots to make their parents and their country proud.
