FC Bayern Munich: Robert Lewandowski talks about Italy, but… – FUSSBALL INTERNATIONAL

Second in Ballon d’Or, but number 1 in Tuttosport.

The Italian sports newspaper named Bayern star Robert Lewandowski (33) on Monday night in Turin at the “Golden Boy 2021” as the best player of the year.

Since Bayern is playing in Stuttgart today (18:30 live ticker on sportbild.de), the striker was not there and thanked him by video and also revealed something about his future (contract until 2023).

Lewandowski: “Moving to Italy? I can’t say anything that I don’t already know. I know I’m very appreciated in Italy, so it’s possible. But I don’t have any news.

The Pole continues: “I know that if I came here I would have the opportunity to compete with great players and great teams. I am very proud that everyone sees the effort I am making. I always try and I thank you. I am honored to receive this award.”

But that’s probably why Lewandowski isn’t thinking of moving to Italy. The Bayern star must have made this statement out of courtesy because he was voted player of the year there. He is still tied to Munich until 2023. Bayern are trying to extend it. Talks are expected to begin in the spring. Nobody expects a farewell, and Bayern would not allow it either. Lewandowski and his goals are too important for the club.

However, if there were to be a change, the Poles would probably only be interested in a top club in Spain. Italy does not play a role for him at the moment.
