Elon Musk announces his resignation as CEO of Twitter

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has announced that he will join the social media platform as chief executive and chief technology officer in about six weeks.

In a tweet from May 11 shared Musk said he has already found a new CEO for X Corp, Twitter’s parent company, who is expected to replace him in late June or early July. The woman, whose name has not yet been made public, will be Musk’s first female CEO since his $44 billion acquisition of the social media platform in October 2022.

According to his own statements, the outgoing managing director will only be responsible for the technical areas of product development, software development, and system operations in day-to-day business. After his inauguration, Musk fired previous CEO Parag Agrawal, who in turn was the first CEO after Twitter founder Jack Dorsey.

Musk, who until recently was the richest person in the world, first announced his plans to take over Twitter in April 2022. During his tenure as CEO, the notorious businessman took many controversial steps, including removing the system. verification check inherited from the platform, the brief change from the Twitter logo to the Dogecoin (DOGE) logo, and a wave of layoffs.

Many Twitter users are already speculating about the identity of Musk’s successor. Suggestions go all the way to disgraced Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes. Regardless, Musk himself is still the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla.
