Brussels – Tomáš Zdechovský MEP questioned the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy about the EU’s position on the recent judgment of the London Court of Appeal, which irrevocably rejected the appeal of the pro-separatist NGO “WSC” against the association agreement linking Morocco with the United Kingdom.
In a question with a request for a written response, the MEP from the European People’s Party (EPP) group in the European Parliament points out that the rejection of the appeal by the pro-polisario NGO has “significant implications for the validity of the agreement and the territorial integrity of Morocco”.
This decision, he observed, “reaffirms the legal status of the agreement and underlines the importance of respecting trade agreements between internationally recognized countries.”
The European parliamentarian said he was “eager to understand the EU’s position on this issue, in particular its point of view on non-state actors challenging such deals.”
“How does the EU view the recent decision by the London Court of Appeal rejecting the appeal request of the pro-separatist NGO ‘WSC’ against the UK-Morocco Association Agreement? Does the EU consider it appropriate for non-state actors to try to challenge internationally recognized agreements between nations?” asked the Czech MEP.
The London Court of Appeal had irrevocably challenged, on May 25, the appeal of the separatist NGO “WSC” against a previous decision of the Administrative Court, rejecting its request that tried to challenge the association agreement that links Morocco with the United Kingdom.
Third setback since last December for the enemies of the territorial integrity of Morocco, the decision of the British justice system had come to confirm the validity of the association agreement that unites the two countries and that benefits the populations and the development of all the regions of the Kingdom, from north to south.
