Has it ever bothered you a lot that your PSN or Xbox Live crashed at the wrong time? The page ToolTester has taken a closer look at outages in the US and Britain and lists the featured sites that are often affected by outages.
Very often PSN, Xbox Live and company fail
Who will reach number 1? In the US, Discord is the absolute leader among crash-prone gaming services. Around 129 crashes were reported here over 12 months, followed by Steam with around 99 crashes.
Sony and Microsoft are also represented on the list: while the Xbox Live service ranks sixth with 63 glitches, the PSN service ranks ninth with 49. The biggest issues here were with online gaming and login. Otherwise, there are many social media services like Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat at the top of the ranking.
In the UK, things are not looking so bleak for gamers. With Steam, a gaming service only ranks third here. However, with 177 flaws, Steam has more flaws than first place in the US Xbox Live and PSN ranks 7th and 9th, similar to the US.
Gaming services are more likely to fail
If you add up all the interruptions, it looks worse for US and UK players. With 193 failures, gaming services are ahead of Internet services with 161 failures.
With online services, Sony and Microsoft subscription services will be canceled at the same time. You can find out what paid gaming services offer if you are not affected by outages in GamePro:
In Germany, too, we have to deal with service failures from time to time. More recently, the PSN crashed and players were unable to use online games or services such as PlayStation Store or PlayStation Now.
Where does the data come from? The website data refers to the results of downdetector.com during the last 12 months. However, the creators only included the three most common problems on the list.
