PS5 gets Game Trials feature • Eurogamer.nl

With a serious warning.

Sony presents a Game testing feature for PlayStation 5. This feature gives you the opportunity to try certain PlayStation 5 games for free before purchasing.

To test the feature, visit the relevant PlayStation Store page and you will be given the option to purchase or test the game for a predetermined period of time. The feature is currently only available in the UK and you can only try the demo versions of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut and Sackboy: A Big Adventure for six and five hours respectively.

The big downside to the feature is that the timer starts running as soon as you press the “download path” button on the PlayStation 5 or the “add to library” button on the PlayStation Store. For this reason, players with a slow Internet connection have less time to test a game.

To avoid the latter, Redditor recommends jsnals to create a new account in the same region on the same PlayStation 5, download the game there, then log back into your main account and start the demo. In this way, you will not lose valuable time and you can enjoy the demo version of the game in question for a longer time.

Additionally, you only get one chance per account to test a game, and you only get access to trial versions of PlayStation 5 titles through Game Trials. If you buy the game after finishing a demo version, you will take all the progression and trophies earned to the full game.

In other PlayStation news, you can read all about the PlayStation 5 firmware update starting in September and find out that PlayStation 5 will be getting a lot of new features in the future.
