Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been asked to “leave” their British home just weeks after the publication of Harry’s incriminating book, Spare, the couple have confirmed. A spokesman for the couple said an “application” had been made for the Sussexes to cede Frogmore Cottage, near Windsor Castle. But royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo warned that Harry could lose a major royal title.

Speaking to GB News, he said: “It’s actually a coup. The practical reality is that he wasn’t just thrown out of Frogmore.

“By losing Frogmore, they actually constitutionally forfeited their royal roles and potentially benefited Britain.

“If he loses Frogmore, Harry has now lost his domicile status in the UK and which constitutionally means he can no longer be a Councilor of State.

“A Councilor of State is a very important constitutional role when the King is incapacitated or abroad, there are four senior royal officials who can fulfill certain duties of the King.

“Harry was one of those councilors of state, but without a home in the UK, he was publicly and ceremonially dispossessed. »

The move comes as the couple faces increasing pressure to give up their royal titles following high-profile allegations against the royal family.

Harry has “backed down” on his offer to give up his royal titles despite calls for him and Meghan Markle to give up their titles after bringing damning allegations against the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex claimed in his Netflix documentary series that he had previously told King Charles that he and Meghan would be “willing to relinquish” their titles.

Since then, he has refused to answer a question from 60 Minutes’ Anderson Cooper, who asked if he was ready to give up his title.

Speaking on Us Weekly’s Royally Us show, royal pundit Jonathan Sacerdoti said: “If Harry has any self-respect, he should give up his title himself.

“The Monarchy is not just a soap opera. It’s not just a celebrity story, it’s a fundamental part of the British constitution. »

He added: “Harry revealed that he had suggested to the King, his father, that he would give up on him and Meghan anyway if they couldn’t live in Canada and continue to carry out certain royal duties, but it obviously didn’t work out for them.

“Since he withdrew from this offer, the couple continues to use his titles, especially in commercial activities through which they earn millions of dollars.

“When asked recently if he would voluntarily relinquish his titles, he replied that there was no difference. »
