Ozzy Osbourne will not return to the stage in the fall. The 74-year-old rocker, who has Parkinson’s disease, says he’s not ready yet.
“As painful as it is, I had to make the decision to pull out of the Power Trip festival in October,” Osbourne said on Twitter on Monday.
Initially, the Briton would return to the stage in the summer of 2024. When the offer for the California show came to him, he “optimistically” brought forward the date of his return.
But that moment comes too soon, the artist writes. “Unfortunately, my body tells me I’m not ready yet. I’m too proud to do my first show in almost five years half sitting down.” In May, Osbourne said that he would perform in a wheelchair if necessary.
The singer has been struggling with his health for years. Osbourne suffered a severe fall in the bathroom in 2019. As a result, he re-injured himself in a quad bike accident in 2003. The artist underwent multiple surgeries after the fall. In 2020 he announced that he has Parkinson’s disease.
