Orange formalizes 5G roaming in certain European countries

5G roaming is now official on Orange. Within a declaration, the operator has confirmed a list of several countries where 5G is available to travelers. These are Spain, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Luxembourg and Latvia.

Example of an SMS sent by Orange when traveling abroad. The post clearly mentions 5G when it is available.

In recent days, some Orange customers have started to take advantage of 5G while roaming. The operator specifies that the current list is not final and that ” will not stop getting richer with the months “He adds that he is in the process of signing new agreements for 5G with certain operators abroad. At his side Bouygues It explains on its site that its users will be able to take advantage of 5G roaming after the signing of the agreements, without further details.

This novelty is not a surprise: the European Parliament recently announced the extension of the abolition of the costs of roaming until 2032, and I took the opportunity to make some small adjustments. In particular, it is requested that the quality of the roaming network be the same as that offered in the country of origin. In short, that operators do not restrict travelers to 4G when 5G is available.
