SAINT-JEAN, NL – An international cybersecurity expert says there is reason to believe that Newfoundland and Labrador’s healthcare computer network is still under attack.
David Masson, from Darktrace, is a cybersecurity company based on Royaume-Uni, which is responsible for the minister of the Holy John Haggie, who will declare mardi aux journalists that the persons involved in the cyberattaque «irrdent, litteralement, ce que we make”.
Masson, who works in Ottawa, said in an interview Tuesday that Haggie’s comments suggest that the cyberattack that hit the province’s computer network on October 30 is still ongoing.
Prime Minister Andrew Furey joined Haggie and other officials in announcing that hackers had gained access to personal information of patients and employees.
Masson believes that the government’s repeated and direct use of the word “accessed” probably means that they can see that the log files have been opened by a third party, but he points out that officials may not know much, something else.
Mr. Furey and other government officials refuse to reveal the nature of the attack on the healthcare system or to say whether the hackers are asking for money.
