While many of us know Milltek for its exhaust lines on Volkswagen Group engines, the company knows how to do other things. Evidenced by its new line for the Lotus Emira.
Will it finally have the sound it deserves? It’s not that the latest-generation Lotus Emira doesn’t sound great, but its V6 Turbo engine deserves better. under his hood, The British sports car hides a 3.5-liter V6 turbo, which gives it some pretty amazing performance. However, that hasn’t stopped Milltek Sport from doing its part to make the sports car that bit more exciting to drive. And for the company in question, this means better sound.
For the Emira, the brand has created an exhaust that saves weight, improves sound and slightly improves performance. The exhaust is made from T304L stainless steel and uses the car’s original mounting points. It works with a standard valve control and a lighter rear silencer that saves 1kg. Milltek has also developed an optional OPF/GPF line that saves an additional 1.7kg.
Better sound, better performance… better pleasure?
The UK company claims its new exhaust for the Emira results in an 18% decrease in ‘back pressure’ and meets noise regulations in most of the UK. Milltek is also working on an exhaust for the Emira made entirely of titanium. With this version, there Lotus should gain between 6 and 7 kg compared to the original system.
In the state, exhaust only fits Emira equipped with the supercharged 3.5-liter V6. Owners of an Emira powered by Mercedes-AMG’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will have to wait a little longer to improve their sports car soundtrack.
