Weather phenomena are always the focus of professional and amateur cameras around the world. Their beauty and the great impact they have on people’s daily lives has made us feel called to capture them at one time or another.

At Meteored, relying on the daily images shared by our followers on social media It helps us illustrate our predictions and tell what is happening, almost live. Therefore, in gratitude, we wanted to launch Meteored International Meteorological Photography Contest.

Contest Rules Summary

The contest is open to anyone over the age of 18 residing in one of the 10 countries where Meteored has a news section, such as Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Mexico.

Each author cannot send just a photograph, which must not have been awarded in another contest and must be free of frames, watermarks or filters. Small touches of light and color are allowed. Images must have a minimum resolution of 300 pixels per inch.

Works must be sent to [email protected] The email will also include the title, the author’s name and the location where the photo was captured, as well as the link to the author’s Twitter if you are an active user. Example: “Martín Sánchez. Title: Cascadas. Nerja. Twitter @MS11332u3”.

How is the winner chosen?

The competition will take place in two phases. In the first, It is the followers of our Twitter accounts who will vote for the photos they prefer thanks to their RTs and their “likes”. All eligible photos for the contest will be posted on the Meteored Twitter accounts in the different countries, in order of receipt. At the end of the participation period (July 3), there will be one week left to continue voting for the images. From July 13, The votes will be counted and the 10 photos with the most interactions will be chosen. These 10 photos will be evaluated by a jury of experts who will choose the image that best suits the theme, based on aesthetic criteria, originality and representativeness of the phenomenon.

Get a professional weather station

July 18, We will know the jury’s decision and we will announce the winner of the 1st Meteored International Meteorological Photography Contest. That day, in addition to making it public on our social networks, we will contact the author of the image to send him the prize.

Many weather enthusiasts dream of owning a professional weather station, that can come true thanks to this contest.

The weather station that is the prize of this contest includes an outdoor solar energy sensor, a rain collector, a wind indicator, a UV radiation meter and a humidity sensor. In addition, it has an LCD screen and wireless technology that allows you to transmit data through a Wi-Fi connection.
