This Tuesday, the M-Sport team “reassured” everyone with this news, recalling that the Ford Fiesta is the only model available at all levels of the FIA rally pyramid. This model even represents 80% of its current offer of rally cars. It was then unthinkable and unimaginable to see this M-Sport model disappear.
With Ford’s cooperation and support, M-Sport has significantly increased its stock of Fiesta bodies to ensure continued production of all models for years to come, both in the UK and in Poland.
“The Fiesta is at the heart of M-Sport’s business operations and has been responsible for much of the company’s success over the past two decades. Thanks to our long-standing association with Ford, we were able to start preparing for the end of Fiesta production well in advance. I want to assure all our customers that we will continue to build Fiesta rally cars for years to come, both in the UK and in Poland.
The Fiesta was the first customer focused car developed by M-Sport and I think the 2000 overall wins speak for themselves. Development is also ongoing at all levels with our Fiesta-based cars, with the Fiesta Rally2, Rally3 and Rally4 currently benefiting from extensive development programmes.
I want to personally thank Ford for their support over the years with the Fiesta. Ford and the Fiesta have allowed M-Sport to grow as a company with their customer programs that Ford has trusted us with and continues to do.”
