Hemangi Chakravarty, a talented poetess hailing from Jaipur, garnered international acclaim by winning a prestigious poetry competition organized by Born Lippy in England. Born Lippy, a leading organizer of spoken word events in the North East of England, presented two rounds adjudicated by esteemed local poets and an enthusiastic audience. After two rounds, judged by well-known local UK poets and the evening's audience, Hemangi was awarded a first place and the coveted opportunity to deliver a 10-minute performance at the special Women's Day event co-hosted by Wor Lasses and Born. Lippy recently. She was the opening poet of the night and performed 4 poems about women and feminism that were very well received by the public.

BBC Radio Newcastle recently invited Hemangi, along with the founders of Wor Lasses and Born Lippy, to promote the special Women's Day event on their weekly show. During the show, Hemangi shared insights about her journey as a writer and also performed a poem.

Hemangi, an alumnus of India International School (IIS) Jaipur, has been engaged in spoken word poetry since 2019 in India and since 2022 in the United Kingdom. In 2021, her book, “Uninterrupted-A Collection of Poems” was published, garnering praise and recognition from esteemed poets. Hemangi recently completed her MA in Creative Writing from Newcastle University, further cementing her commitment to her craft and academic pursuit.
