announce on August 9 the appointment of François-Xavier Douin to the rank of

director of institutional activity in the Nordic countries. The society

The management also appointed Ali Karmali to the same position for the

Middle East and Africa. They will report to Maria Ryan, Director

of institutional activity for the United Kingdom, the Nordic countries, the

Middle East and Africa.

François-Xavier Douin comes from JP Morgan, where he has worked since 1999. He was most recently Managing Director

and Director of Client Advice within the activity

clients at Lazard Asset Management since 1995 before being promoted to

product specialist position in 1998. Early in his career,

worked as a private banker between 1989 and 1994 at Paribas Asset

Management, where he was later appointed commercial manager of the

institutional clients between 1994 and 1995. Ali Karmali, meanwhile, came from

First Sentier Investors (formerly First State Investments), where

had been director for the Middle East and Africa since 2013. He was

also in charge of institutional activity in Southeast Asia since

HSBC AM had $595 billion in assets under management, 58% of which came from institutional clients.
