Olympia: hockey pro Fuchs makes semi-final promises
Qualification to the quarterfinals is not in serious danger due to the first defeat, four of the six teams in the group advance. At first, the German team defeated Canada 7-1. With the 1: 3 (0: 2) against the strong world champion Belgium, the German men conceded the first Olympic brake in the match of the second preliminary round.
“We still have great games against Great Britain, the Netherlands and South Africa. We will reach the quarter-finals when we win and head towards the semi-finals,” Florian Fuchs said confidently after the initial anger subsided. “Nothing changes in our plan. Whether we are first, second or third, in the end it doesn’t make a big difference.”
