Travelers who do not comply with the quarantine obligation can be fined 339 euros. This is verified by the calling teams and, since last week, also by the boas that may be at the door. The government knows which travelers should be quarantined, because they must complete a quarantine declaration when they travel to the Netherlands. Failure to do so can result in a fine of 95 euros.
In addition, travelers traveling by boat or plane from these countries to the Netherlands must submit the following tests: a negative NAAT-PCR test for a maximum of 72 hours and a negative rapid test for a maximum of 24 hours. For train and bus commuters or car riders, they just need to show a negative NAAT-PCR test.
Recently, Sweden, Cyprus and Lithuania have been removed from the list of very high risk areas. Travelers from those countries no longer have to self-quarantine, but are encouraged to do so.
