“Glamour” magazine named “Woman of the Year” for the first time in Germany. Even before the award ceremony, winner Alicia Awa attracted attention.

The American edition has been honoring her since the nineties, Great Britain has been celebrating her for more than 15 years: now the German magazine “Glamour” also names her “Woman of the Year” for the first time. On Thursday night the gala hosted by Victoria Swarovski took place at the newly opened Fotografiska Museum in Berlin.

According to the magazine, the winners of the awards in the various categories, such as “Game Changer of the Year” or “Inspiring Actress of the Year”, would shape the zeitgeist and contribute to strengthening women’s self-determination.

Among them was musician Alicia Awa, who received the “Rising Star” award. The DSDS 2019 finalist turned heads on the red carpet before the awards ceremony. He appeared in a skin-tight two-piece suit made entirely of black sheer fabric. Only a thin cloth was wrapped around her hips and the 26-year-old had left on a bra.

Sparkly silver appliqués, matching strappy sandals, and an equally sparkly clutch gave the ensemble a glamorous look. The singer styled her dark hair in an elegant updo.

Among the winners was Katja Krasavice, a colleague of Alicia Awa, who was named “Musician of the Year.” Actress Florence Kasumba (“Tatort”, “Black Panther”) was named “Inspirational Actress of the Year”, Luisa Neubauer received the “Climate Activist of the Year” award.
