Her husband, Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, gave it to her as a wedding gift in 1840. Victoria, former Queen of the United Kingdom, lived from 1819 to 1901. She was the great-great-grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022 The choice was made, but probably not by one of the two women of the jewel, but by the donor, the German Prince Albert. Perhaps a token of gratitude to the host country, where Camilla and Charles were visiting for three days.
