TELEVISION
Failures on television are not uncommon. Strange situations always arise, especially at live shows. Because not everything can be planned and, above all, emotions cannot be controlled. Tagesschau spokesperson Susanne Daubner had to see this firsthand.
Every morning, starting at 5:30, the hosts of the ZDF and ARD program “Morgenmagazin” welcome viewers. To briefly review the news, from time to time we head to the studio of “ZDF Today” or “Tagesschau”, depending on the station currently broadcasting the program. This week it’s the ARD and on Wednesday at 7.30 am the spokesperson for the “Tagesschau”, Susanne Daubner, will give an overview of the current news situation. But the live broadcast ended in a huge fit of laughter.

Tagesschau spokesperson bursts out laughing
Before the presenter duo changed to Susanne Daubner, “Moma” showed a report on rugby in France. However, moderator Sven Lorig had to admit that the editorial staff ignored the rules of the sport. He first Googled the rules. This already makes his colleague Anna Planken laugh. To elegantly start the “Tagesschau” interruption, she suggests: “We now have 3:40 minutes because Susanne Daubner announces the morning news.”
Was it the happy atmosphere in the “Moma” studio that also infected the “Tagesschau” spokesperson? At least he couldn’t start his program as usual after the transition. He couldn’t stop laughing and tried to greet the audience while laughing, but he had to keep interrupting. “Guilty,” Daubner muttered to the camera as she was repeatedly shaken by fits of laughter.
Susanne Daubner completely in a bad mood
The first topic I really wanted to talk about was the “chemistry summit” at the Chancellery, but I couldn’t stop laughing. “I’m so sorry,” she repeated, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes.
“Now, now,” he announced after a few seconds, took a deep breath and returned to the topic of the news. She finally recovered and was able to talk about Olaf Scholz and politics as planned. She didn’t really succeed. After a few sentences, she started laughing again, but recovered. “No, I can handle it,” he admonished himself and continued with his broadcast.
Spectators celebrate Susanne Daubner
Back in the “Moma” studio, presenter Sven Lorig felt guilty. “I’m sorry. Was it my fault?” he asked Daubner. A brief “yes” that was almost squeezed out by laughter had to suffice as an answer.
On X, formerly Twitter, the appearance of Susanne Daubner caused a lot of fun:
“Bacon nerd. Extreme zombie scholar. Hipster-friendly alcohol fanatic. Subtly charming problem solver. Introvert.”
