Lamborghini has already produced 20,000 Huracán!

The Italian brand celebrates its best-selling model, although production will continue for a few more months with the arrival of the new Tecnica version.

Arrival at the range to replace Gallardo, the Huracán has sold 20,000 units since its launch in 2014. A colossal figure, especially considering that 14,022 units of the Gallardo were sold. It was a Huracán STO, the most extreme road version of the V10-powered sports car, that received the honors. Sober but menacing in his matte gray livery, he was delivered to a Monegasque client. In 8 years of career there have been no less than 7 different versions of the Huracán, not counting the detectable derivatives spider. Indeed, there is the original Huracán, the RWD drive version, the Performante, the Huracán EVO and the EVO RWD which are similar to a major restyling, the STO and, very recently, the Tecnica. And all this without counting the multiple limited editions and special series, nor the competition models! On the road, in any case, it is clearly the coupes that are favored by customers.

The widely sold coupes

Indeed, hardtop versions account for 71% of total sales! And it is the Americans who benefit the most, since Nearly a third of the Hurricanes were delivered to Uncle Sam’s country. Then comes the UK, a land fond of sports cars, then China. And since buying a Lamborghini is also an act of social differentiation, it is not surprising to learn that since the launch, 60% of the Huracán produced have benefited from the Lamborghini Ad Personam customization service. The latter allows you to choose a rare color from a palette of more than 300 exclusive colors or even create a custom one from a sample, while the cabins can also receive their dose of customization, colors, materials and upholstery.

The Urus are not far behind

If the Huracán is currently the best-selling model in Lamborghini’s history, the Urus off-roader is about to dethrone the cousin of the Audi R8. In the summer of 2021, the manufacturer from Sant’Agata Bolognese celebrated the 15,000th Urus produced in just 3 years of racing. Therefore, it is very likely that in a few years, the latter will become Lamborghini’s best seller, all models combined. As for the progressive electrification of the range, it should not upset this established order too much, unless the first electric Lamborghini in history surprises.
