Despite sanctions against Russian champions Roman Abramovich and Chelsea, the club won the Premier League game against relegated Norwich City.
The English first division soccer team led by Thomas Tuchel won this Thursday 3-1 (2-0) at bottom. The London team is third in the table.
With German internationals Timo Werner and Kai Havertz in the starting eleven, Chelsea dominated the game. Already in the 3rd minute Trevoh Chalobah scored the lead from Mason Mount’s pass. The passer scored eleven minutes later after Havertz’s template.
Havertz meets the final score
With Chelsea missing some chances after that and former Schalke player Teemu Pukki scoring the connection with a penalty kick (68), things got exciting again before Havertz (90) scored the final score.
Britain had previously imposed harsh sanctions on Chelsea. The Champions League winner and world club champion can no longer transfer players, sell tickets to future games and must close all fan shops. Chelsea’s Russian owner Abramowitsch loses control of the London soccer club for the time being.
