We can say that galactic virgin now play in the big leagues!
The company founded by Richard Branson has announced the success of its first private space flight with astronauts, galactic 02 .
With private astronauts Jon Goodwin from the United Kingdom and Keisha Schahaff and Anastatia Mayers from Antigua and Barbuda, the mission galactic 02 noticed the following facts:
- It carried the first female astronauts to the Caribbean.
- The first mother-daughter duo to travel to space
- Most women carried on a single space mission
- The youngest person to travel to space
- First Olympian (Jon Goodwin, who competed in the 1972 Olympics) to go into space
- First all-female spaceflight
- Sixth and seventh black women to go into space
- Second person with Parkinson’s to go into space
- Third oldest person to go into space
The company will now conduct post-flight inspections and analysis in preparation for the next commercial space mission, galactic 03 scheduled for September as part of Virgin Galactic’s ongoing monthly flight cadence.
