On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Channel Tunnel, Getlink reveals the new brand identity of its rail transport service
Eurotunnel Le Shuttle becomes LeShuttle
-
On the eve of the 30th anniversary of Eurotunnel’s commissioning of the Channel Tunnel, Getlink unveils the new brand identity of its pioneering passenger and freight rail service: LeShuttle.
With this new brand identity, LeShuttle, Getlink is implementing a strategic milestone in its growth ambition based on customer focus, quality of service and a strong track record of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Le Shuttle’s new brand identity makes the fundamentals of its offer of simple, fast and low-carbon transport between the United Kingdom, France and Europe explicit for all audiences.
As an original brand, Eurotunnel embodies operational excellence and technological innovation at the service of operating a unique infrastructure in the world, the Channel Tunnel.
The excellence of the service offered to Le Shuttle customers is based on:
-
A crossing time of 35 minutes between Calais and Folkestone1 (compared to 90 minutes for the ferry between Calais and Dover)
-
An unbeatable frequency of departures in the Strait and a 24/7 reception.
This unique transport offer between the UK and Europe was chosen in 2022 by:
-
More than 2.1 million passenger vehicles2
-
More than 1.4 million trucks crossed the Channel aboard the Shuttles representing 25% of the trade between the United Kingdom and the continent.
While mobility solutions are now appreciated in terms of their environmental impact, LeShuttle is the mode of crossing the Strait with the lowest carbon footprint. A car journey via LeShuttle emits 73 times less greenhouse gases than an identical ferry ride.
Yann Leriche, CEO of Getlink, stated: “In one year, we will celebrate 30 years since the launch of a transport offering that has fundamentally transformed exchanges between

the UK and Europe. We are proud to make this change of identity for the LeShuttle brand today, opening a new chapter in the history of Eurotunnel and the Group, focused on innovation at the service of customer experience and the continuation of our low-carbon development. ”
About the LeShuttle logo and ad campaign:
Le Shuttle’s 60-second ad will be shown in French cinemas in June. It was made by Jake Scott in collaboration with Ridley Scott Creative. Jake Scott had already filmed the first Eurotunnel commercial when the service launched nearly 30 years ago. He immediately became passionate about this project of writing the new chapter in the history of Le Shuttle.
The new brand identity will particularly resonate with the new generations of travelers who currently use airlines and those who are already users of trains for their short-distance journeys in Europe.
The new logo visually embodies the DNA of the LeShuttle offering: speed, efficiency while referencing the technological prowess of the Channel Tunnel infrastructure. The elongated letterforms connect to show the user’s movement through the two tunnels during their journey, and the connections in the logo express the simplicity and efficiency with which LeShuttle operates, taking the passenger from France to England. The color palette is a monochrome palette that provides a sophisticated background for the secondary and tertiary palettes to shine through. Thus, the company’s Passenger offer will stand out with purple, created from the mixture of red and blue of the Eurotunnel logo.
